Singapore
a message from Alex, regional leader
The Open Hearts Foundation was founded by a group of student leaders
who share a common interest of wanting to make a difference in helping
others in their communities. In Singapore, we have been involved with
community organizations to help support the less fortunate.
Our first endeavor started during the height of the global coronavirus pandemic in 2020. Since masks were mandatory yet short on supply, we prioritized raising donations for masks. We worked with our team in Vietnam to source and manufacture antimicrobial, reusable, and washable fabric masks. We are proud to have distributed these across a number of charities that support orphans, low-income families, and learning centers. As of 2023, the Singapore team is proud to distribute 4000 reusable masks to four local charities registered with the Singaporean government.
Please DONATE now! We'd really appreciate it, as with your donation, if you can help to make a difference for the underprivileged in Singapore. 100% of your donations will go directly to providing masks to the underprivileged.
Another way you can help is to please spread the word! Share our page with your family, colleagues, and friends. The more people donate, the more positive impact we can create to help the underprivileged!
Open Hearts Photography is another initiative that I founded to give back to our community using our talent. In Singapore, we have worked with local charities to use our skills and give portrait photography. We have reached out to families from all backgrounds, including single mothers, persons with special needs and the elderly to give family portraits.
Our inspiration and impact have been to capture the love and happiness in photos and receiving much more in return have inspired us to continue to do more.
We would like to thank you again for your generous support and kind spirit.

Our Open Hearts Singapore Team donated 1400 antimicrobial masks to a charity called Club Rainbow, Singapore. This nonprofit organization supports children and teenagers who suffer from major chronic and potentially life-threatening illnesses. Open Hearts Singapore also got to interview Gideon Saw, a Senior Executive at Club Rainbow who gave us a better understanding of what support they need most. It was heartwarming and inspiring to learn how they support the children in underprivileged communities.

Free Food For All receives 580 reusable masks
Recently, in collaboration with the local organization Contribute.sg, the Open Hearts Singapore team donated 580 masks to an organization called FFFA (Free Food For All ).
Contribute.sg has distributed over 604,582 Masks to local organizations in Singapore, and we are very proud to be working with them to donate masks to FFFA.
When visiting Free Food For All, we were very inspired by the founder Mr. Nizar Mohamed Shariff, who was awarded the Singaporean of the Year award in 2018. He used almost all of his life savings to start this charity and he decided to do this as a full-time job afterward. Initially, he didn't have enough money but he was able to get sponsors such as Foodbank Singapore, RedMart, and SG Food Rescue.
Each year, FFFA makes 100,000 meals for up to 3000 elderly and low-income residents. Another amazing initiative that inspired us is that the FFFA makes ready-to-eat shelf-stable food pouches. These pouches come in vegetarian and non-vegetarian options and were delivered across Singapore.
