Our Impact

Our Mask Initiative

Check out our latest video to sumarise our mask initiative! In the midst of a global pandemic, we reflect on our mission and accomplishments.  We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with our sponsors and partners to help the underprivileged communities from Vietnam to Singapore to the USA.

thank you aldo!

Open Hearts would like to sincerely thank ALDO for their generous donation.  From their donation, Open Hearts was able to manufacture and provide antimicrobial masks to the underprivileged communities in Vietnam. Open Hearts distributed the masks to children at  Christina Noble Children’s Foundation (Vietnam’s longest serving NGO- Non Government Organisation since 1989) and Saigon Children Charity (one of Vietnam’s largest non-profit organisations that work with children).

The ALDO Group branded as ALDO, is a Canadian multinational corporation retailer that owns and operates a worldwide chain of shoe and accessories stores. The company was founded in Quebec, Canada in 1972, where its corporate headquarters remain today. It has grown to become a worldwide corporation, with nearly 3,000 stores across 100 countries.

AMA Foundation supports open hearts

Open Hearts would like to express our deepest gratitude to AMA Foundation. It is through their support and generosity that Open Hearts have made a greater impact in the underprivileged community in Vietnam.

A special thanks to Peter Mach, founder of AMA Foundation, who graciously sponsored Open Hearts with purchasing our masks for his foundation.  Through AMA Foundation, our masks were distributed to underprivileged students at the University of Education in Saigon, Hue and Dannag.

Through AMA Foundation, our masks were also distributed to Phuoc Thien Primary School in Ho Chi Minh City. Phouc Thien Primary School is an organization that focuses on an overlooked issue- giving education to children who cannot obtain a house-hold registration, and as a result, cannot enroll into a Vietnamese public school.

AMA Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 2001 to support underprivileged students and educators with scholarships, mentoring initiatives and ad hoc training services in Vietnam.

tah tong: Where our masks are made

Open Hearts would like to sincerely thank Tah Tong Textiles Group for helping us produce our antimicrobial masks.  At their factory, we were able to take a very insightful tour from seeing how raw cotton is spun into yarn and the manufacturing process to produce it. From their vertically integrated supply chain, we were able to produce our masks for distribution.  Open Hearts' favorite part of the manufacturing process was designing our own masks with patterns, logo and print designs.  Tah Tong Textiles assisted us in the digital printing of our designs.

Tah Tong Textiles is a publicly listed company founded in 1958.  It is a vertically integrated textiles group with over 60 years of experience with offices and factories in Taiwan and Vietnam.

behind the scenes: How are our masks made?

Open Hearts would like extend our deepest gratitude and sincerely thanks to Nalt Garment factory for helping us produce our antimicrobial masks to be donated around the world.  A special thanks to Ms. Trang who assisted our team in providing us with a tour of her garment factory and provided us with insights into the manufacturing process.  We were able to see first hand how our masks designs were made into pattern designs, and then cut into individual masks.  It was very interesting to see how our fabrics were cut and how our masks were sewed together. Nalt Garment factory was able to take our antimicrobial fabric (from Tah Tong Textiles) and produce our masks for distribution.  We are so grateful for their help and guidance in this process.

open hearts + club rainbow team up to fight covid

Our Open Hearts Singapore Team donated antimicrobial masks to a charity called Club Rainbow, Singapore.  This non profit organization supports children and teenagers who suffer from major chronic and potentially life-threatening illnesses.  Open Hearts Singapore also got to interview with Gideon Saw, a Senior Executive at Club Rainbow who gave us a better understanding of what support they need most.  It was heartwarming and inspiring to learn how they support the children in the underprivileged communities.

Open Hearts Vietnam has partnered with local non-profit charity Saigon Children, bringing joy to many children as we donated over 2400 masks. We hope to ensure a safe educational experience for children across the world.

Saigon Children Charity was established in 1992 to help educate children living in poverty, those struggling with a disability or those who are vulnerable.  They build schools, provide scholarships and vocational training to enable the children who struggle the most to gain a basic education and equip themselves with the skills necessary to work their way out of poverty

Open Hearts has successfully donated 3,000 masks to those in need in Michigan! Through United Way (one of the largest non-profit organizations in America), our masks were able to reach the less-fortunate in 12 different orphanages and shelters in the USA. These include charity organisations that will redistribute our masks to families in need, schools with low funding, learning centers and essential workers working in delivering food. Our mask will directly help thousands of people especially with the onset of a second wave in the US.

After our trip to the Trung Tam Bao Tro Xa Hoi Orphanage in Binh Duong, Vietnam, we also got to visit a neighborhood donation drop off for the underprivileged.  Ms. Trang, of Nalt Garment, took us to deliver clothes, masks and food supplies. It was very inspiring to see the generosity and selflessness of Ms. Trang, who has been donating and volunteering her time to the less fortunate in Vietnam for the last twenty years.
